| 16325 | 2001-07-31 10:26:00 | I have a Microsoft Access version 2 database on floppy that I am trying to open in Access 97. I use the Tools/Database Utilities/Convert Database utility as instructed in the Help files, but as soon as I click 'Convert Database' I get the error message 'Can't open a database created with a previous version of your application'. I get the same message if I try to compact the file as well. Any Access experts out there tha can help? |

Converting from Access 2 to 97 etc can get quite messy so make sure you make a copy of your original data to save yourself a lot of frustration. Data tables can be imported easily but with forms and modules it can sometimes be easier to rebuild. This also takes advantage of updated features/options. |
