| 16406 | 2001-08-03 11:52:00 | ok, this problem has just come about in the past couple of months, and iv'e searched everywhere to find an answer, but to no avail... anyway, I use my computer for recording, and now when i record i get these pops in the audio. This only happens when i try to record, and only when i enable record on the programs i use. So if i'm just using a mic into the computer normally the don't turn up... now i've tried reducing hardware acceleration for the graphics card, installing new drivers, and checked the irq to make sure the sound card isn't sharing, but i've come to a dead end. It's jsut strange that it jsut came on all at once, and during that time i hadn't installed any new hardware or software, is it possible there is a problem with the soundcard? |

| 16408 | 2001-08-05 04:54:00 | I had a go at recording some records so I could burn some CDs off them. I found that if the input signal overloaded the sound card line input in the positive direction, it would record that sample as full signal in the negative direction, thus adding a couple of rail-to-rail swings! Reducing the input signal got rid of the problem. However I had to reduce it externally to the computer, which I did with a potentiometer (volume control) and a couple of plugs and sockets. | Guest (0) | ||
