I have a 440LX motherboard and have just purchased 128Mb to replace my old 64Mb. Problem is when boot up (and under windows system properties) it tells me I have 64Mb installed. I've even put 32Mb in with the 128Mb but it tells me 96Mb, not 160Mb as it should. I've tried BIOS but nothing seems obviously out of place...Help!! |

Many motherboards expect all the DIMMs to be the same size and behave strangly when the sizes are mixed. |

sounds like faulty or mislabled ram. check it in another machine first before sending it back. |

i'm just wondering why u say that. i've never come accross a manafacture, magezine or web site that has said that mixing sizes causes problems.
i've yet to have a problem with sizes, most problems are caused by slight differences in memory timings. please correct on this if i'm incorrect. |

It says I have 64Mb even though I have a single 128Mb DIMM. No mixing, just a single module. |
