16542 2001-08-06 03:58:00 Having used another player as the defalt player and having now removed it from my Win me system, how do I get windows media player to start automatically when a cd is inseted in the cdrom. It used to prior to letting the other program be the default player.
Thanks, Don

16543 2001-08-06 10:07:00 ...this works in Windows9x and I presume will be similar in ME:

To re-enable the auto-start function go to start/settings/control panel/device manager, click on the + by CD-ROM, right click on your CD-ROM, select properties/settings, tick the 'auto insert notification' box and reboot the computer(check the tick is still there after the reboot).
If this doesn't work, or the tick was already in the box, remove it then reboot and try again.

You will need to ensure that the correct media player (wmplayer.exe in your case) is being called when the CD is inserted.

Cheers!!!
