| 16510 | 2001-08-05 22:20:00 | Am running Express 5. Received some mails recently which but when selecting or hovering cursor over them the application crashed with 'This program performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.' The message was 'MSIMN caused an invalid page fault in module MSOERT2.DLL at 017f:5f0854c8.' I tried moving the good mails to a separate folder the isolate the ones which made Express crash - now Outlook Express crashes on opening. Ugh. Any likelihood downloading IE 5.5 will fix the problem? Other solutions? Cheers |

However, before doing so, I *recommend* you visit the following Microsoft Knowledge Base Article. Many users complicate their original problem by an untidy uninstall/reinstall of the mail client. This article provides a 'technically' correct method: support.microsoft.com Upgrading your Browser to IE 5.5 is worth consideration - even if only from a security point of view. Good Luck!!! e_ |
