| 16760 | 2001-08-10 02:16:00 | Reading your great mag, July 01, page 91, DUN BACKUP, I couldn't perform what it said about 'registry backup' for dial-up settings as it read. I rang the Compuserve pacific 0800 number (which I got from page 94 article, F1 online). They suggested I make 2 windows for: 'My computer', window, then double click in one 'networking icon' and drag across to the other window. It worked! Initially, doing as the magazine said with only the one window open, you can't find the floppy icon to drop to.....? Forgive my lake of knowledge in not understanding what to do as descriped. What's your thoughts on this or dose the magazine have to make this sort of thing a bit clearer for the unskilled as myself. |

You can double click it to dial, and drag it back tp restore it. Keeping the settings in a file is much safer than in the registry. |
