| 16736 | 2001-08-09 08:34:00 | Can anyone help me? I have a Hewlett Packard Pavilion 4509, running Windows 98. Just recently I have been receiving a message as follows, A fatel exception OE has occurred at 017F:BFF9DFFF. The current application will be terminated, from the point of receiving this message my computer freezes and I have to coldstart my computer which is now happening on a daily basis, and as you could guess this is extremely fustrating, what have I done wrong????? | 16737 | 2001-08-09 10:28:00 | Have you noticed any patterns, eg Online, after certain games. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and make a note of the running apps. You may have installed some buggy spyware, or install Ad-Aware. Another problem I found on a friends pavilion was caused by the winmodem drivers getting messed up. Unfortunatly the system only came with a restore cd, so fixing it took quite a long time. |

| 16738 | 2001-08-09 12:24:00 | Run a virus scan, if your ok there delete any files in your windows temp folder, after that run defrag your drive if it needs it. Like b m said it could be a driver problem or a recently added app interfering with windows. |

| 16739 | 2001-08-09 17:58:00 | a similar error occurred on my 4413 model. i was very new to pcs and blamed myself.my son came home and installed wiring,net connection etc. I then visited all the various sites of installed programs only to find all free offers had expired during the time i had the pc. I did find that a program that came with the scanner and printer did have a problem with other supplied program.remedy uninstall progs then re install in their suggested order.END of PROBLEM. if you have adobe or easyphoto installed look here first. | Guest (0) | ||
