| 16707 | 2001-08-08 09:36:00 | I would like to reinstall Windows98 over the top of my current install. The CD provided when i purchased my PC is what I am told is an OEM version of the software. Written on the CD is the wording 'For distribution with a new PC only' Is it true that I cannot use this CD to reinstall over the top and that I need the upgrade version of Win98? If it is true that my OEM CD is not sufficient then how can I get around this? | Guest (0) | ||

If you want to check, goto DOS and start the setup program (just cancel after it starts), if it tells you you need windows then its an upgrade version. My win98 cd has the same thing and its fine |
