16916 2001-08-13 01:45:00 I have been investigating importing cookies from Netscape 4.76 (uses cookies.txt) to IE 5.5. The import wizard in IE seems to import some cookie entries but not others. Does anyone know of any better import/export utilities to do this? Guest (0)
16917 2001-08-13 09:45:00 I think some cookies are marked private, or similar, which may be why it is not importing them as it is a simple file format.

Why do you need to import the cookies, its fairly easy to go to the websites and have them recreated. Presonally I have mine deleted automatically when I restart.

16918 2001-08-13 22:53:00 Netscape actually logs cookies as lines in a file 'cookies.txt' and they definitely are not private - anybody with read access to your netscape program directory can view the cookie entries, which of course includes usernames, passwords, etc for sites which remember your passwords. I am doing this in a business environment and am migrating from Netscape to IE and don't want to have users complaining that their automatic logon to their various sites has been lost and they have forgotten their password - not that that ever happens (extreme sarcasm) ;-} Guest (0)
