| 16860 | 2001-08-12 00:13:00 | I have a TEAC CD540E 60X CD Drive working fine in Win 98SE until after booting up from a power interruption. The CD Drive says D:\is not accessible The device is not ready. I checked the Set-up and it is Enabled; I checked the Device Manager and it says This Device Is Working Properly. The drive letter assignment is correct at D:. I unchecked the Disconnect and Auto Notification but the problem is still there. The drive light blinks on insertion of CD but eventually stops blinking and there is no autorun. Clicking drive D in Explorer or My Computer says Not Accessible. The drive light blinks on PC start up. Help me from a filipino. Thanks. | Guest (0) | ||

Just remove it from device manager(select CD ROM then hit REMOVE button), then shut down, open case pull the IDE cable(usually grey/wide) off CD ROM(leave power cable(coloured)), restart, shut down, plug in IDE again, power up, The system should find and load it again, if the problem is not too serious? That's what I would do anyway. Scotty |
