16827 2001-08-11 02:36:00 Hi

I have a situation where I want to secure a standalone workstation and have used NT policies as far as possible but users can still right click on desktop and ultimately destroy the workstation and all the s/w installed.
Does anyone know any good trick to disable a right mouse click, or a policy fix to disallow right click?

Cheers
Tex

I suggest you dig further as it is certainly possible to configure a policy to nail down the desktop. You can remove the option to go into display properties, control panel etc. You can set it so that if they move any icons round on the desktop they go back to their normal place on logout. You can stop them deleting or creating files. You will have to use NTFS and account permissions to fully secure the box. Check out the NT mailing list on www.swynk.com, as there are plenty of people on there who can help you with this sort of thing.
