| 16804 | 2001-08-10 22:33:00 | When I open Word 2000 ie click on a document in explorer it just wont open. Just freezes up the computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Word 2000 its still usually the same. I have P111 600 128 133 hz ram 18 gb hd, partioned, one with 3.4 gb other nothing.W98SE with OEM works suite. I have run defrag, scan disk, clean up disk and pc pitstop every thing sweet as. Latest update of NAV run. Word just hangs there, control alt delete and it comes up with a white screen of death with the message 'system is dangerously low on resourses would you like to terminate' yes, no, cancel. Not that pushing these buttons does anything except bring on the blue screen of death. Sometimes it comes up with a message some thing like 'not enough memory to open Word'. It has worked fine for a year, Works goes fine for spreadsheets etc. Sometimes after reverting on goback or reinstalling a million times it will work, when it works it works good fast as a fast thing. Then it goes to lockup mode. There isnt much on my computer no games 128 meg ram should open word. Thanks for any help you can give me. Cheers Ted Heath |

| 16805 | 2001-08-15 23:42:00 | You could try this. Use windows explorer and delete all files with .tmp extension in the c:\windows\temp directory. Delete any files or directories that start with ~ . You could also delete any .bak files from there. Other than that.. I think you've done all you can. May pay to look on microsoft.com for a fix or patch. | Guest (0) | ||
