17113 2001-08-16 23:46:00 Does any one know where I could get a driver for a KTX 56IV internal modem. It has Rockwell written on it also. I haven't had any luck at windrivers.com and the forum there.

Also a KTX monitor:
Model C5DZR DT-03

17114 2001-08-17 02:53:00 The offical Edge (aka KTX) website seems to have disappeared, as you have probably noticed.

I found a mirror at ftp.computerdepot.co.nz

ftp://ftp.computerdepot.co.nz/Modem/56KIV90G.EXE

looks about right for your modem.

As for the screen, I did a search and if I got the right one, it supports DDC, so your OS should detect its settings automagically.

If I got the wrong one, DDC should work in all modern monitors anyway.

17115 2001-08-17 02:56:00 have a look at this site as it contains ktx drivers used on hardware sold by edge computers (now computer depot ltd)

17117 2001-08-17 05:02:00 I downloaded the driver you sugested for the modem, but when I tried to install it the way the ReadMe file said, I got the following message:
The device on COM 2 is not recognizable as a flashloadable modem.
Attempting to flash-load an unrecognized modem, could cause the device permanent damage.
So I cancelled.
Additional info I can add is that it was bought in 1997 and it fits into an ISA slot.
OS is Win98 SE.

17118 2001-08-17 06:56:00 If you are unable to locate the driver for your modem, you could try a generic 'standard 56k modem driver' for Rockwell chipsets.
Have a look at:
home.worldline.nl
and click on the standard modem link.
The install instructions are in the readme file in the zip package.
It will add Standard 56k modem to the list of modems available in windows 95/98.
Cheers

17119 2001-08-17 07:40:00 The other thing you could try(worked for me when i had ktx isa modem )is to ring computer depot ltd (they are in the main cities)& ask someone in the technical department if they can help you out.unfortunatley the new owner of my computer now has the drivers.
good luck, steve

PS: there is quite a few ktx modem drivers available for download at www.driverguide.com

17120 2001-08-19 05:20:00 Thanks for your suggestion.
That might be what I need to do because when I have the 'Show compatible hardware' option selected there is nothing in the list.

I tried to go to that site but kept getting a 'page cannot be displayed' page. initially I coppied and pasted the address in but got the same result when I typed it in. Even after restarting computer.

I'll keep trying.

17121 2001-08-19 05:29:00 I had a look at www.driverguide.com but didn't see anything that looked like it was the one.
If I can't get it sorted by tonight I will definately try ringing Computer Depot.

Thanks for your suggestion.
