17047 2001-08-15 11:26:00 Is anyone else having a problem with ssslllooowww
traffic on Actrix as of late.
There is a problem connecting (engaged signal) then when ventually connected the traffic is very slow and stop start. I used to connect first time at least at 45000bps and the traffic flowed non stop, now it is worse than the motorway at 5pm

17048 2001-08-15 23:32:00 Geez!!...I was wondering that myself. In fact, our connection got so slow, I've joinged up with Paradise. We kept getting disconnected. Bloody annoying is all I can say. If they're having DOS attacks, it would be nice to be informed. Or hire competent people to fix their problems. I've emailed them about the slow/cutoff connects as well and was told to 'check your settings'. Blah! Guest (0)
17049 2001-08-15 23:33:00 I've got a 2mps permanent radio-wireless connection with Actrix. My xtra mail account routes through their mail-server. I did notice that connection speeds were slow last night - but everything seems fine today. Guest (0)
17050 2001-08-16 01:20:00 Xtra has been moving like molasses lately at night too (slower than usual anyway)... seems ok at the moment, but from 8pm to about 11pm pages take forever to load.

Maybe the Aussies are using all the Southern Cross Cable bandwidth?

17051 2001-08-16 05:11:00 Didn't a ships anchor hit the cable a while ago?

Paradise net has had a few slow spots, but atleast they announce it on their homepage.

17052 2001-08-16 11:11:00 I have been having the same problem with ACTRIX. Real slow of late..a bit better tonight. It wouldn't hurt them to post a message on their page if they are having problems as other ISP's do. They are going to lose me shortly and I suspect a lot of others will depart if they don't get their act back together...is a competitive market out there ACTRIX Guest (0)
