| 17002 | 2001-08-14 21:35:00 | Hi there! Is it possible to remove the voice part from an mp3 file - leaving only the music behind? Reason I'm asking is we'd like to try and learn the guitar section of a song and the singing is a little distracting! Cheers Lynne |

There are hardware devices, there was one in Electronics Australia, but if you type the phrase, remove vocals, into Google search at http://www.google.com , there are dozens of sites giving info on this and software to download and try. Most seem to remove the so-called centre channel from a stereo recording where vocals are often located. I dont think you would be able to entirely remove a vocal without also degrading the music, but its worth trying. | Guest (0)

My experience is that because the majority of music is blended so much by its sound engineers, even at its best the eidted files (vocals removed) can sound a little tinny, hollow etc. | Guest (0)
