| 17223 | 2001-08-19 08:39:00 | Having upgrade my computer and done a fresh install of Office 2000, I decided to move to M/Soft Outlook as the preferred Mail browser. Previously I had used Outlook express. My old HDD was installed as a slave (d:). I located the old address book in d: Windows/Applications Data/Microsoft/Address Book/ and endeavoured to import it to Outlook. No joy. Various efforts to transfer the old address book to the new Outlook Express installed with Office 2000 on drive c: and import it from there have all failed dismally. After being able to open the file and confirm that it is the one I want to transfer, I now find that the system tells me it cannot find wab.exe Currently the file is sitting on my desktop awaiting a solution... Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. | Guest (0) | ||

Right click on the address book that you want to import, go to properties select or deselect 'read only' and/or 'archive selection'(try read only by itself first). Then try to import again via file/import as you would. That should do it. Scotty |

The only way I had trouble free success with was to export the Outlook Express address book to comma separated values file. Then I imported the file from within Outlook 2000. You also get a chance to match up the old fields with the new ones. Lloyd |
