17209 2001-08-19 00:21:00 How do you disable the onboard sound in the bios? I know one option but people say there is two ways you have to go around to diasble onboard sound. Why would the computer freeze when the sound is enabled anyway?
There is no other sound except for onboard cards?

17210 2001-08-19 02:40:00 What is your mobo number / bios type?

Try looking in your mobo manual to see if it has instructions.

If you have two sound cards then they will probably have some sort of conflict.

Onboard sound is a soundcard (actually its not, its more like a winmodem in that it uses the cpu to do all the work) that is integrated into the mother board, rather than on a seperate expansion card.

Its popular because, as with winmodems, its cheaper for the manufacturer.

17211 2001-08-19 04:11:00 Would that be this: 'Keep getting new hardware found for winwavemodem and then it asks for software', Have always disgarded it ! What's a Mobo manual by the way? Guest (0)
