Recently formatted hard drive with Win98 and now having problems with Sound. Keeps saying sound blaster has to be enabled in Bios. When we do enable it in the Bios, it keeps freezing and wont load up. We can install other sound software but can't get volume control and keep getting messages about the sound blaster. Could it be a port problem? or what? Tried uninstalling other sound software so there was no other and then enabling the onboard sound blaster, but it keeps freezing and wont start up. Any Clues ! |

Do you have a sound card as well as on-board sound? If so, on-board sound must be disabled, and for some bios's, there are two places that this has to be done |
