17264	2001-08-20 06:06:00	Hi there Hi If you are running Win98 or newer, do this: Click Start, Run and type in msconfig. Click OK. Click the 'StartUp' Tab and deselect the ones you don't want to load. Click OK and re-start. You should also check and delete any uneeded items under Start / Programs / Start Up. In Windows 95, navigate to the C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder. From here you can delete any shortcut in the folder to stop it from running at startup Matt	Guest (0)
17265	2001-08-20 10:33:00	Thanks for that Matt S. However, the programs I am trying to remove are the ones that the operating system initiate and are therefore not in the startup folder. If I recall correctly there is a program I can run from the Run option in the startup menu that lists the loaded/running programs and allows me to remove them permanently from the startup sequence. 17266	2001-08-21 12:26:00	Don't try this if you are not confident. Make a backup of your User.dat & System.dat files and then run RegEdit and do a search for 'RunOnce', there being only one occurence of it, and above or below that there should be 'Run' & 'RunService'. Export the Reg entry you think is the one and then delete. By Exporting first you can Doubleclick on the file to restore it to the Registry.	Guest (0)
