17395 2001-08-22 05:43:00 I have 2 computers one running Win98 SE, and one running Win 2000. Let me first point out that i have read the article on the main page and it doens't help me.
From Win 2000 I can access the Network drives on the win 98 pc, but when I try to do it the other way I am prompted for a password. I have no idea what it might be and how to change it. I've tried my administrator password and every other password I ever use,

Any ideas Thanks Ashley

P.S Matt - your advice did not work - there is no password option in Windows 2000, thanks anyway

17396 2001-08-22 07:23:00 hi Ashley,

have you enabled the guest account on the W2K box? I suggest you set the logon type on the wintendo box to be client for MS networks, and make sure there is an account with the same username/password on the W2K box, with the necessary group membership to access the share.

17397 2001-08-27 09:45:00 I have found an awesome little program within winodws called Net Watcher. If you install it on both computers, it will let you speciy passwords and which resources to share Guest (0)
