17338 2001-08-21 05:18:00 Is there any way, using any utility or existing software that I can configure my computer to tell me visually,
or audibly, that there is a message waiting in my call- minder mailbox?
One would think that it should be possible as the phone lines are linked.
I would really like to know, as I am waiting for job interviews to come through, and cannot afford a second line in.

As for when your online, it would be up to telecom to make the service available, so try ringing them. As a call minder user, I would be interested if the did.

17340 2001-08-21 12:08:00 If it is when you are online I seem to remember seeing a program recently that would alert you to an incomming call and you don't lose your connection. You could try searching the web for it. Guest (0)
17341 2001-08-21 12:19:00 I think it was V.92, which is an update to the current V.90. It supports you suspending your call, if Telecom supports it. Which is probably a couple of years away. Guest (0)
17342 2001-08-23 08:52:00 I remember that Telecom also had something called Message Minder, which is a slightly enhanced version of Call Minder, and I think that may have had an internet access option. Might be worth giving them a call ... if you ever log off of course ;-)

I guess it might be more expensive than a second line though :(

Sounds like - when the job hunting pans out - you need ADSL ... then you can have your cake and eat it too!
