17305 2001-08-20 15:37:00 i have a KTX monitor about 5yr old. lately for no apparent reason i turns a pinkish colour, sometimes for a moment sometimes a long time. i have a 2nd monitor which always works fine. has any body had this problem b4 or know if its serious or repairable. i believe it to be the monitor not the system b'cos the other montior i have works fine all the time.
cheers :)

17306 2001-08-20 20:48:00 The problem is most probably an intermittent connection in the video cable, often this occurs at the plug where the cable gets bent.
Whether it is economic to repair is debatable.

17307 2001-08-21 00:26:00 There was a post here:

About a successful fix, if it isn't the pins in the plug.

17308 2001-08-22 01:14:00 The later KTX monitors are well known for faulty CRT tubes. I would first check the video cable for an intermittent connection and if that isn't the problem then you have a lemon.
I have seen hundreds of these monitors thrown out because of faulty tubes.
Sorry.
