| 17514 | 2001-08-24 06:52:00 | Configured the software to my system, installed 'Carmen' to create a directory and batch file to run the program. This being C:\ Then asks to specify a Destination Drive and Path and either change the default or press enter. To run the game, type CARMEN from this directory. This is from MS-DOS. E:\ is my CD-rom drive. I'm told it doesn't exist! Also told that this is a 16-bit executable program. (Obviously need to change this from 32-bit. Can I? if so, how? I've been everywhere I can think of and now I need HELLPPP! Been through MS-DOS troubleshooting to no avail. Can anyone help me? I've exhausted my knowledge and patience. Also have trouble running other games that need to run from DOS (ANOTHER STORY?) Have Pentium 111-667 Running Windows 98 SE |

Well if thats the case you may need special drivers to use your cd-rom in dos, maybe for sound card and mouse too. Its not always easy setting up those in dos either or runing games for that matter, also if the game will only run in dos it must be fairly old and its always easier to run games in windows if they will - one way to try is to right click on the exe file then go to properties/program/advanced and check 'prevent MS-DOS based programs from detecting Windows'. Then try running the game in Windows. |
