17569 2001-08-25 02:16:00 I have installed Microsoft Steam Simulator but it will not run but comes up with an error message. It appears the cause is is due to the video driver being incompatible with Directx8 DDI Version.5.
The game requires DDI Version 7 or higher. I cannot find how to obtain this version. Can anyone help please.

17570 2001-08-28 03:42:00 Bertt, you can always get the lates version of DirectX from the Microsoft web site.

You also need to download the latest video drivers for your video card from the manufacturers web site.

17571 2001-09-02 02:54:00 Thanks for your reply Bruce. I have done all that you have suggested and find that the Progrmme will still not run. On the box it states the requirements (not minimum requirements)are 4 MBs of video card memory. I have this and all other requirements. On contacting MS they tell me that it will not run on some video cards. notably Intel and ATI. even though they have 4 MBs of memory. I think that it is disgusting that MS can sell a programme that does not run on the requirements that they stipulate. Any one reading this take note that this programme, I would think, needs at least a minimum of 8 MBs video memory Guest (0)
