| 1277788 | 2012-05-28 03:41:00 | Anyone out there buy these and know a good place to get them from? I have often had problems with the pins in molex plugs getting damaged and sometimes would like to put my own plug on. Up until now I've cut old plugs off dead PSUs but it's not very satisfactory. So I'd like a source of the pins and plugs and possibly a crimp tool and pin removal tool. Suggestions where i can get these? P.S. I think they are terrible connectors and it's time manufacturers moved to something better. |

| 1277791 | 2012-05-28 06:59:00 | For the record, Molex isn't really a type of connector, it's the name of the first company that made them. An attempt was made by a group of ESDI (extended data interface) committee to standardize the power connector in the drive industries. As there was no standard as yet, Molex came up with a variation of power connectors falling under our 8981 series to accommodate the need of our valuable customers. We have the vertical, right-angled through-hole and surface mounted versions. (www.molex.com) Therefore, you can purchase them from many manufacturers and various places. The big names like Farnell, RS and Digikey should also carry them from various brands. |

I went and asked in person today and nope, the don't have them. The sales guy thought they were getting them at some point but he seemed uncertain. I did find them at Farnell in packets of 100 but that's a bit more than I was after. I thought these would be easily available somewhere fairly cheaply, so far no luck. |
