1277313 2012-05-25 05:39:00 Hi all
I had a look through the forum and haven't found much about NZ based and other online backup options with the exception of Icloud. For a number of years I have done it with Mozy(which has its own client) though for speed I would prefer closer to 'home'. It could be for working files or any other. Did a 'google' about the NZ based online backup options though don't know anything about those.
What are you guys/ladies using and could recommend?

Thanks

1277314 2012-05-25 05:41:00 For items that "Have to be backed up" over and above the normal external Locations, I use SkyDrive. wainuitech (129)
1277315 2012-05-25 05:44:00 I just back up locally to a NAS. It's dissapointingly slow but it does the job. I couldn't backup online with the bandwidth it would use. dugimodo (138)
1277316 2012-05-25 06:52:00 We use Datalock ourselves which is NZ based.

There is also Slingshots Backflip option.

1277317 2012-05-25 09:13:00 I use crashplan. You can for free, backup to a folder, external drive another machine....or if you have a mate with it as well, to their machine.

Paying for it you can backup to their service. I do all of the above with it. Different things go different places.

1277318 2012-05-25 09:45:00 I have been wondering this too, currently I backup to an Amahi server in my garage, but nothing off site as I'm at home all day and would have nowhere to store it gary67 (56)
1277319 2012-05-25 09:50:00 I have used NetRescue in the past and found them really good to deal with (this was in a business sense rather than a home situation) southern_jas (4017)

Interesting mix of options. I also backup on a network drive. In case of burglary I find that not a perfect solution as the drive is in the same place as work.

1277321 2012-05-25 20:27:00 ....There is also Slingshots Backflip option.
Just had a look and the price looks good. Have not seen anything at that price in NZ yet.
