1254675 2012-01-17 17:51:00 At the risk of starting another round of "those guys don't know what they're talking about" - here is a recent salary survey reported in Computerworld .

As Service Desk always seems to be the contentious one, says $45k - $55K in this one - which again seems about right to me .

Here are the ranges for Auckland and Wellington

Auckland ( . co . nz/cw/Files/IT_Salary_Survey_2011-Auckland . pdf" target="_blank">computerworld . co . nz)

Wellington ( . co . nz/cw/Files/IT_Salary_Survey_2011-Wellington . pdf" target="_blank">computerworld . co . nz)

Looking for Oracle DBA's and Middleware Specialists (with Web Logic background preferably) if anyone out there fits the bill, drop me a line .

1254676 2012-01-17 20:51:00 Contract rates seem what I was getting offered - the lower end that is.

Permanent, I think it's high, no-one offered me that...and it can depend anyway.

Here, it's a smaller private co, and it's not bad, about what I expected.

The one before - they were a large Govt dept, and the pay there was about what I expected - quite a lot more than here.

Seems normal...

I find this one hard to believe .

DesktopSupport, basic server support. $42k (+ must supply my own car for onsite jobs)

and absoulutley no shortage of guys who would take my job & pay, despite how low it is (we get them coming in & ringing looking for jobs all the time)
