1277384 2012-05-25 09:07:00 Hey all, getting reaaaaaaaally sick of this.

For well over a year I have had 3 monitors running off my 5850 in the below config...

TV -> HDMI -> DVI
HP -> DP -> DP
AOC -> VGA -> DVI

I have never had any problems until wednesday when I unplugged it all cos I got a bracket to mount the 24" HP and 19" AOC. Plugged back in and could not get a signal out of the HP/Displayport. Kept trying different things including uninstalling and reinstalling all drivers and managed to get it so all 3 screens were going but the HP had massive flickering and on and off black screen. Bit more playing and now it just goes to sleep! Won't get a signal at all. But if I plug the vga from the 19" into the HP all is well as well as the tv running sweet. Just can't get all 3 screens to go.

I have googled as much as I can and have managed to replicate just about every scenario there is except fixing it! Is it the cable? Seems odd though because the symtoms are forever changing.

Any ideas/ a hammer would be much appreciated

1277385 2012-05-25 09:17:00 My guess would be a cable as everything worked before the alteration so very unlikely to be a driver problem. mikebartnz (21)
1277386 2012-05-25 09:19:00 Ill give it a shot, pretty sad that unplugging an oem cable is enough to stuff it if that is the case. hueybot3000 (3646)
1277387 2012-05-25 10:01:00 Check your refresh rates etc. Could be something got changed incorrectly.

Unplugging the monitor is more than just a cable disconnection, it will detect the monitor as being disconnected and disable that output. It's entirely possible when you plugged it back in again it's changed something in the settings.

1277388 2012-05-25 10:59:00 I've checked refresh rates, i think. I can only seem to see the recommended refresh rate in CCC, don't have the option of adjusting, only in windows screen resolution thing hueybot3000 (3646)
1277389 2012-05-25 11:45:00 Ok monitor has worked on post up until windows a couple of times randomly, does that rule out cable? hueybot3000 (3646)
1277390 2012-05-25 12:21:00 Check plugs for bent pins, straighten carefully with delicate long nosed pliers. zqwerty (97)
1277391 2012-05-25 12:33:00 Displayport connectors don't have pins as such, more like contacts... hueybot3000 (3646)
1277392 2012-05-26 04:51:00 Can confirm that the cable is not the problem.. whats next? hueybot3000 (3646)
1277393 2012-05-26 05:08:00 Have you tried removing video drivers including all monitor drivers, running cleaner like driversweeper etc? Agent_24 (57)
