| 1255397 | 2012-01-22 04:14:00 | Just wondering how many PF1 members brew their own alcohol goodness. And if so what the brew of choice is? | Tukapa (62) | ||
| 1255398 | 2012-01-22 04:28:00 | I was doing spirits up to a couple of years ago. Mostly whiskys, the odd liqueur and some knock you over mud shakes. | plod (107) | ||

Personally, I use Brewtec. However, as with all brews, personal taste is the bottom line. ;) |

If I ever get a dud spirit run (eg something goes wrong and it tastes terrible) I just run it through the still 2x to get a flavourless alcohol that you can add to another run, use as a fuel etc. Possibilities are endless. Its good fun except my still is broken :( and I have no money to get a new boiler |

| 1255405 | 2012-01-22 19:30:00 | It's turned into quite a commodity amongst tradesmen where I am, which is a fantastic way of doing things. Favours are repaid with products, everyone seems to have their own niche. One bloke has a Still, one is a proper old school Home Brewer, one makes Biltong, one has an endless supply of Crayfish etc etc. I'm going for a gap in the market - Mead. Then, all we need to do is find a Panel Beater with access to a selection of cheeses and we'll be set. | Contented (15925) | ||
| 1255406 | 2012-01-22 21:10:00 | I went through a phase of making saki, it's ridiculously easy and tastes ok. (rice, yeast, sultanas, water - stick it in a plastic barrell and leave it for a month - just about all there is to it) I don't drink enough to bother brewing anything these days though. |
