1255291 2012-01-21 05:04:00 Did we say that it is possible to get youtube onto a usb Drive?

Quite nice to watch some things on telly!

1255292 2012-01-21 05:42:00 Ant will download YouTube fairly well (If you have Firefox), then it is easy to transfer the vid to USB stick or whatever It may need Handbrake or similar to switch formats to suit whatever you are going to display it on.

If you haven't got Firefox, you are in strange territory that I have no desire to trespass in. ;)

1255294 2012-01-21 06:08:00 I use this: http://keepvid.com/ pretty self explanatory. I don't need to convert the vids after as well since the mp4 format is compatible with my tv. icow (15313)
1255295 2012-01-21 06:21:00 It's a lot of pissing around / waiting for files to convert / ending up with video files with messed up sound etc etc.

Best way would be using something to watch youtube on your tv, such as a media player with browser, a ps3, a google tv box or a tv with built in web browser.

1255296 2012-01-21 06:23:00 or an Xbox, which now supports You tube. But you'll need a gold sub to use it Speedy Gonzales (78)
1255297 2012-01-21 07:02:00 You could try YouTubeSongDownloader from abelssoft. Its freeware with a little unobtrusive advertising from Amazon.
You can choose between .avi .mp4 or .flv for video and .ogg and .mp3 for audio.
It convertsto the chosen formats.... I don't know what format it actually downloads.
It doesn't (as its name suggests) just download songs.

1255298 2012-01-21 07:50:00 Ant (get it here (www.ant.com).) is pretty easy to use, if there is a video on the page you're viewing, the Ant button is enabled and away you go. It saves the downloaded video in Your-home-directory/Downloads/Ant videos/ Just right click on the downloaded file and [Save As] to the thumb drive or wherever else you fancy. Done. If your player - TV or whatever does not like xxx.AVI files, convert it with your favourite converter before saving it to the thumb drive. R2x1 (4628)
1255299 2012-01-21 08:23:00 A simpler way than using handbrake - play the file you saved with VLC, then select SAVE and it will ask you for a format. VLC will happily convert & save your video to the hard drive, CD, DVD, or external drive. All done with free programs, no ads, and absolutely Apple free. R2x1 (4628)
1255300 2012-01-21 08:25:00 I use sothink web video downloader addon for firefox, very easy to download, then copy and paste to flash drive plug in and watch, or what I do now is hook my netbook to the TV and either stream from the browser or watch pre downloaded ones gary67 (56)
