| 1254694 | 2012-01-17 09:16:00 | i.stuff.co.nz I'm glad they've found a buyer but even the fact that the receivers were proposing to put down 30 odd big cats is outrageous. |

| 1254696 | 2012-01-17 19:49:00 | There even a Facebook page about saving the Zion big cats: www.facebook.com its good that there is interest in saving them. What this all says to me is that amongst the numerous threads over the last few weeks that have debated the creed and race of people this is another string on that same bow of broken society. Here you have a company of lawyers that have decided they were prepared to destroy 30something big cats because it did not suit their business plan or model and the cats prevented the financial compensation being processed to those it is owed to. To me this just shows that from the dregs of society through to our supposed upper levels of educated persons the majority of time actions are driven by completely the wrong reasons (as we all knew) and when you have lawyers behaving as this shows a bad trend...yes they are breaking no law but morally they are breaking every rule in the book as far as I am concerned. They should be ashamed of themselves. (right, soap box has been returned to the cupboard for another week now). |

They should be ashamed of themselves . So you do contract work for me but times are tough and I stop paying you because my pets need food and welfare . But I owe you $thousands and make you promises and expect you to keep working without any money . That's my business model . Fair enough? |

How about you answer me this...would you want those cats destroyed if it was you that was owed money? |

If there was no other practical course available. However I expect a fair few of the cats to be rescued so hopefully the point is moot. Can't find a list of exactly what the 36 cats are. The problem is adult lions and tigers are specialised and difficult animals to care for, so those may not survive. |

| 1254700 | 2012-01-18 12:26:00 | Perhaps I should add that I'm a life member of the SPCA. Every day in New Zealand friendly affectionate cats and dogs are euthanised by animal loving volunteers who have to make the hard decisions - based on money. Nobody enjoys that, noone. | Winston001 (3612) | ||

Aren't all tigers and lions endangered? If no one in this country is willing to care for them, I assume one could find an overseas zoo/establishment to take them off our hands?? Maybe the government should step in and do something about these animals, we throw away money right, left and center on many moronic issues . . . |
