| 17755 | 2001-08-28 12:06:00 | Attempted to restore a regestry backup as advised in your forum, (command prompt - scanreg/restore etc), but got a 'unable to complete operation' message -- Tried another backup but got the same result ???????????? Wondered if I can restore a regestry backup by simply unzipping one of the .cab files in the C:Windows/sysbckup folder --- --- Running straight Win 98 ----- Thanks in advance |

| 17756 | 2001-08-28 12:24:00 | It should work. They contain the following: System.dat user.dat system.ini win.ini So just extract them to c:\windows. CD \WINDOWS EXTRACT .\SYSBCKUP\RB001.CAB *.* (It only extracts to the current dir) It seems it doesn't backup the profile USER.DATs. |
