| 17752 | 2001-08-28 10:08:00 | Hi I have just finished rebuiilding a friends PC and have found that FD #6 of 9 with part of a Zip file containing the old but valauabale data is on a faulty floppy. I tried to runs scandisk to fix the problem but it tellme me there's not enough space on the disk. I can't copy the file temporarily elsewhere because my PC cant read the file. Can anyone help please Ron |

| 17753 | 2001-08-28 10:21:00 | Get a copy of PKZIP for dos, it includes PKZIPFIX and will recover all it can. This has happened to me before, so now I leave 100KB free on each disk. You could try Norton Utilities (free trial, althouth is 45MB). You could also try to do a disk image for the disk, errors and all. But because its a full disk, i'm not sure if you can mount the image under windows, as I don't thing writing the image to another disk will help. If you have access to linux, it will let you mount disk images. |
