| 17721 | 2001-08-28 00:03:00 | Hi How do you change the Windows 2000 Splash screen. I have a multi-boot start up and when I edit the logo.sys it comes up with the Windows 98 splash screen. |

I suspect that the Windows2000 logo is modified in a similar way, but I've never bothered to find out. Try this url as well. virtualplastic.net |

| 17723 | 2001-08-28 12:13:00 | Hi Josh, At first I thought it was impossible! I can't say it can't be done, but the result can be castastrophe! With Windows 2000, its even harder to do such things as with Windows 9x and Me. In the end there are possiblities that can be attempted but you would have to do this at your own risk. To cut a long story short here are some things you have to consider: (1) You need a program that allows you to edit the application: Ntoskrnl.exe The best method is to make a copy and use your copy to edit this. (2)The bitmap itself has to be 640x480 in 16bit color ONLY. (3)You have to disable the Windows File Protection mode. Reason is, that Windows will keep replacing any files that are 'File Protected.' So no matter how many times you try make any changes, Windows will keep replacing it with the default. (4)and theres more.... This is just a tip of the iceberg, so in my advice; don't waste too much of your time and energy to attempt this! On behalf of the conspiriators: 'Gingerbread Man' & 'X' man |
