17671 2001-08-27 00:56:00 Network has previously been running OK but now the computer does not appear on the network neighborhood and no options for sharing appear on context menus. Other computers connected can be accessed OK and other checks show network adapters are functioning correctly. A related problem which appears to have occurred at the same time is that the printer port will not work in two way fashion as required by the PSC500 printer scanner. The port will work OK when an alternative Win98SE system is run on the machine so problem is obviously a software one and may be related to a Registry setting or Windows parameter. ZoneAlarm and BlackIce are installed but disabling these has not made any difference. Guest (0)

17673 2001-08-30 23:38:00 Hi there,
Have finally resolved all the problems by removing all networking and reinstalling. Some problems were also introduced by a faulty coax cable that put a short on the connection when shifted. A bit of internet searching also brought up some good advice on networking - see www.answersthatwork.com for some good advice.
