If its not then windows isn't detecting it (also check if its listed in your BIOS when you restart), check if the cables are still connected to it. If it is then it may have been hidden, if you have tweakUI installed it allows drives to be hidden. Try opening an MS-DOS prompt and typing with a disk in the drive: D: (or what letter your drive normally uses). |

| 17927 | 2001-09-02 00:37:00 | thanks for the reply. cd rom is listed on start up, but not listed in device manager, cables are ok, if i try a dos prompt, i get an invalid command.i tried starting with boot up disc, whih let me use cd rom support, from a dos prompt to install windows agian, would a re install solve the problem ? any help appreciated | Guest (0) | ||
