17791 2001-08-29 07:29:00 I need to buy a full version of Windows 98, and was wondering how much this should cost me, all I have found so far is upgrade versions, or US sites. Guest (0)
17792 2001-08-29 08:49:00 www.e-one.co.nz $289 Guest (0)
17793 2001-08-29 09:01:00 I did a look around the local sites. Your best bet will be to find an OEM copy of 98SE, but you will have to buy some hardware with it (RAM upgrade?). Ascent (www.ascent.co.nz) list it but others probably will.

It will be very hard to find non OEM copy, its microsofts way of encouraging people to get their latest attempt at an OS.

DSE is selling the full version of ME for $507!!!.
Their not doing much to discourage piracy are they.

PS Linux is free and runs better on old hardware.

17794 2001-08-29 11:01:00 MS stuff is dam expensive, just look at the price of frontpage 2002, you might be able to pick up a cheap 2nd hand copy in the trade & exchange or something. Guest (0)
17795 2001-08-30 02:45:00 Yeah, try TradeMe, www.trademe.co.nz they have heaps of stuff for sale or auction, but watch it, Its addictve Guest (0)
17796 2001-08-30 10:12:00 Most editions of Buy Sell Exchange in Christchurch offer second hand copies of Win98SE - $50 to $100. The equivalent publication in other centres will be similar. Try advertising for a copy; I don't see many people advertising a second time. Good luck
