| 18070 | 2001-09-03 03:45:00 | Hello, I have a mustek 600 with a 670c attached and intially had the same problem.for some reason I cant fathom, it seems that windows wasnt reconising the printer programming. By going through start, setting, and to printers, I deleted the current printer programm and reinstalled it. you probably have checked this, but I also found it was easy to get the connection cords mixed up in the scanner plugs. cheers, Bob |

| 18071 | 2001-09-03 05:15:00 | hello, i tried reinstalling the printer and it makes no difference? i dont know what the hell the matter is. i checked the cables and it still made no difference. the pc wont detect either the printer or scanner when they are both connected to the computer, but as soon as i just plug the printer in by itself it works fine??? maybe there is a physical problem with the cablesor scanner? do you have any other ideas???? if not thanks anyway jon. |

| 18072 | 2001-09-03 05:45:00 | I had this problem with a epson 640 and a scanner, the problem in my case, was I had run the cable from the scanner to the wrong plug on the box. On my box there is a plug for the printer and one for the scanner but plug into each and no joy. So part of what you have got is right, printer to scanner and then a 2nd cable from the scanner to the box, if you have another plug of the same config try that one x the scanner. Another point I discovered with my setup and my daughters setup was in both cases the printers (epson) would fail if the power to the scanner was off | Guest (0) | ||
| 18073 | 2001-09-03 07:21:00 | Hi there, The scanner you are trying to install needs the printer port to be set as EPP in your BIOS. After setting this in the BIOS go to control panel Com & LPT ports and delete the current printer port as Windows still may think it's normal or ECP depending on the way it was set in the first place. After you have done this re-install your printer then the scanner. Check that the cable from the system box goes to the scanner next to the power. Connect the printer to the scanner using the other socket. Make sure the scanner is also powered on while trying to print. Don't try to use the scanner and printer at the same time. I hope this helps. |
