| 17950 | 2001-09-01 07:15:00 | On my Brother typewriter I can convert .wpt files to ASCI.txt files so I can view documents on my PC. On the PC I then copy the text from Notepad & paste into MSWord which is no problem. However somehow the margins are set in Notepad. Even though I can do a paste special into Word or try & change the margins in Notepad, the margins cannot be altered. I have extended the original margins in the document on the typewriter but again to no effect. I then have to go through line by line in Word & backspace sentences to fill the margins. With pages of text this is tedious and was wondering if anyone had any ideas how to get around this, Thanks. |

You could try using a text editor like UltraEdit which is designed to do editiing of text like this. Or if the file is using spaces to set the indentation then you could do a find and replace by searching for example eight spaces, ' ' and setting replace to be nothing. |
