| 17959 | 2001-09-01 05:13:00 | I am using windows 95 & 98,have difficulty scanning my hard drive (it happen to defregment too).Even I used safe mode to do it.It keep restart again & again. Is there a better way to scan the hard drive? and how? Thank you. |

| 17960 | 2001-09-01 05:29:00 | It will probably restart a few times when you defrag it in safe mode, but not many. If you do not have much ram then it will be more frequent as it will be using swapspace. If you have more than one system (which it sounds like you do) then you could put the HDD in another system and defrag it that way, the drive won't be inuse so it shouldn't restart on you. Also try getting the winME defragger (in a previous post) it is much faster. |
