| 18093 | 2001-09-03 06:13:00 | I hadn't realised how pathetically slow and clunky WMP7.1 was in Win98SE until I had to transfer my hard drive into a lower spec. back-up computer. To get back to something like the speed of version 6.4, make the following settings: a) Set to compact mode with classic skin. b) Uncheck option to Start in Media Guide. c)Uncheck option to display anchor window. d) Set zoom to Fit Window. Refering to an earlier posting, in Add\Remove Programs, my setup does not have the option to fully remove WMP7.1, contrary to what MS says in their knowledge base. If you count up the number of entries in the registry refering to WMP, it is daunting to say the least to manually remove WMP. |
