18128 2001-09-03 22:07:00 I've put a Fujitsu 4.3Gb into a Gateway433C (433Celeron), and while the bios recognises the size of the drive, Windows98 (Explorer) only sees the drive as about 490Mb. Tried to convert to FAT32 but system says drive is too small to convert. Drive has not been partitioned. I've been here before but can't remember how to fix. Any advice appreciated. Guest (0)
18129 2001-09-04 02:29:00 Run 'fdisk' from a dos prompt, and you should be able to see if the partition is set to the full disk. Don't forget to run format after you have the partition right, and have rebooted. Guest (0)
18130 2001-09-04 08:02:00 Check the bios settings for the drive, you need to enable LBA mode for the drive, other wise your limited to ~528 mb.

You will also need to reformat (you could add more partitions but 500mb isn't very usefull).

Use a win98 bootdisk for FDISK and say yes to the question it asks you about large disk support.
