2001-09-04 11:50:00 We used to be able to do 800x600 resolution on our Windows NT SP6a server. No one has apparently touched it, but it now will only do 640x480 at 16 colours. We are using a Intel L440GX+ Motherboard with inbuilt Cirrus Logic GD5480 Video Controller. If you click on list all Display modes it only lists 640 x 480. I have Changed the driver to standard VGA, then installed ver 1.22 from intel.com and reinstalled sp6a. Yet it still doesn't work. Have changed monitors, no change. Have checked services, PnP is started. No warning or errors are coming up the the system or application event logs. Guest (0)
2001-09-04 19:53:00 Right click desktop/properties/settings/advanced/monitor, and make sure the correct monitor is listed, if a standard monitor is listed it won't go to the higher setting. Guest (0)
2001-09-04 20:01:00 Windows NT4 doesn't allow you to specifiy a monitor, there is no advanced button Guest (0)
2001-09-04 22:05:00 Hi. have you tried reinstalling the Vid drivers? Guest (0)
2001-09-04 22:20:00 With no errors in the event logs, and a reinstall of the drivers, I could only guess that someone's messed with your boot.ini to load with the /basevideo switch... Guest (0)
2001-09-05 10:28:00 Yes as per above description, I installed Standard VGA, rebooted. Installed intel drivers and rebooted. Still doesn't work. Installed a sperate S3 Trio 64V2 video card and certified S3 drivers still doesn't work. It is interesting to note that after rebooting and going to display properties it still say Standard VGA not S3! Guest (0)
