18379 2001-09-07 10:32:00 I have happily had my scanner working with the parallel port mode set at EPP for years. I have recently added a parallel port Zip drive attached to the scanner which works fine. But now my scanner (KTX9600AP) jumbles up the image scanned! I tried changing the parallel port mode to ECP and ECP + EPP with no luck. It did however work fine set at normal (but of course it's now slow). I uninstalled the scanner driver and reinstalled without any success either. I even disconnected the Zip drive - no luck!??? Guest (0)
18380 2001-09-07 10:43:00 Parallel ports aren't really designed to be used by more than one device.

The fact that scanners can use it is basically hack.

My suggeston would be, either get another card with a printer port, or switch between them as you need them.
