| 18339 | 2001-09-07 06:00:00 | I'm getting booted from my internet connection about 7 times every night while surfing the web. I was just wondering what could be some of the possible causes for this happening. Cheers Glenn |

| 18340 | 2001-09-07 08:39:00 | If you have a noisey phone line that will probably be the cause. Check the quality of your cabeling. If you use an extention lead, try removing it and connecting directly. Although when I was with Xtra, I had the same problem (worse actually), which they blamed on the phone line, but it went away when I changed ISPs. |

| 18341 | 2001-09-07 11:40:00 | Hi Glenn..I had the same problem..very frustrating..I was blaming my Ihug ISP, & had advice from their helpdesk..nothing helped..eventually I could not connect..Panic, tried checking all modem settings, uninstall/reinstall the internal modem, no joy..in despiration I dragged out an old 33.6K external modem, plugged it into com2, and WOW, it works fine, even better than the internal ever did. I've learn't that internal Winmodems like I had, use software for many features, compared with the chips in external modems..I guess the internal Conexant modem is faultly, or inadequate, so for now I'm glad to have the external one going great.. | Guest (0) | ||
