18386 2001-09-07 22:02:00 I have a 350mz P with 64 meg of ram (100mz)i have just upgraded to 128 (133mz) 0f ram
at reboot I get the error message SPD not found at dimm(s) slot 1.
i'm unable to find anythink in the book about this message but the PC say that i have 128 megs of ram, the PC seems to load faster etc bu can go slow during some games etc any help would be great

18387 2001-09-08 01:40:00 Basically you got cheap ram, it doesn't have an SPD chip.

The spd chip tells the computer the specifications of the ram so it can configure itself automagically.

There is nothing wrong with not having it, it just measn you have to guess the settings.

Although having cheap ram may be unreliable, go for stuff that has atleast a 1year warranty, preferably 5 years.
