18369 2001-09-07 10:12:00 I currently have tweakui installed & was thinking about installing x-setup. Is this a good idea or are they basically the same.

If so do I have to uninstall tweakui (and how) if I want to install x-setup.

18370 2001-09-07 10:33:00 You can have both, there isn't a limit as they both just change registry settings.

The main difference is that XSetup covers heaps more then tweakui.

The main thing I use XSetup for is to change the File Allocation Cache.
If you set its size to the max, then your HDD won't get fragmented as fast. This makes a huge difference.

18371 2001-09-07 11:42:00 my favorite word;-)

x-setup does heaps but it depends on what plugins you use so it does pay to update them from time to time.
well worth it.
no need to uninstall tweakui.

18372 2001-09-07 11:57:00 Thanks guys. Do you know if any recent NZpcworld cd has x-setup on it. The download site is slow (1.1KBp/s). Guest (0)
