18283 2001-09-06 06:14:00 Is there any way of logging the amount of data transferred (down and upload)over a chosen timeframe? I know this is available from ISP's offering data-capped pricing plans, but if you are on all-you-can-eat plan, and are considering moving to a capped plan, it would be handy to know first what your actual typical data transfer is. 18284 2001-09-06 08:35:00 Windows writes a log of internet connections, if you set it to append them (not overwrite previous ones) you will get a record of all connections.
There will be a lot of other stuff, but it is quite easy to see the useage (prehaps you could write a script to process it, if you know how).

To turn on appending of logs, In the dial up networking settings, modem properties, connection tab, advanced button. Tick append to log.

Of course there are probably programs that you can run that will do it for you.
