files - but am unable to open them on my PC( running Windows ). Are there any programs able to view theses.

18514 2001-09-09 22:52:00 These are probably attachments that are actually encoded files that need to be unencoded. You need a program to do this. I use an old program called Xfer Pro. Not sure what else is out there. You also need to take a look at the files to see what their encoding is. Probably one known as MIME. You can tell by opening the file in notepad or wordpad, the first few lines will give you a clue. You may need to rename the file to make unencoding easier - to MME for MIME for example.
This is a pretty old-fashioned way of getting files, most programs these days handle the encryption without needing to know about it. Might be your email client or the one that is sending you the files that needs to be upgraded.
