| 18510 | 2001-09-09 13:29:00 | I have recently been setting up my new computer which is running WindowsME. I have enabled the 'disconnect when idle', 'dial my default connection' and the 'disconnect when connection may not be required' functions. All was working well with the dialer starting as soon as I launched either Outlook Express or Explorer and was disconnecting when idle and would prompt me as to whether or not I wished to disconnect or to remain connected when I closed Outlook or Explorer. For some reason the dialer has stopped prompting me in this way when I shut down the programs. It was just so convenient but now it has stopped operating. I have checked the throughput after shutting down either Outlook or Explorer, or both and there is nothing being sent or recieved. Can anyone help with information as to how to restore this fuctionality? Thanks |

Start>Settings>Dial-Up Networking; Right-Click your default connection; Click the 'Dialling' tab, and you should see these options here, near the bottom: 'Enable idle disconnect', and below that, 'Disconnect when connection may not be needed' Hope this helps, Mike |
